Terms of Service
Last updated: March 4, 2026
1. Acceptance
By creating an account or using Specter, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Service Description
Specter is an automated learning system that ingests behavioral signals from your product, analyzes patterns using AI, generates improvement proposals, and verifies outcomes after you deploy changes. The service is provided via a web dashboard, REST API, JavaScript SDK, embeddable script tag, and webhook integrations.
3. Your Account
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and API keys.
- You must not share your API keys in public repositories or expose them beyond your intended integration.
- One person or legal entity per account.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Send signals containing personally identifiable information (PII) such as passwords, social security numbers, or health records.
- Use the service to monitor individuals without their knowledge or consent.
- Attempt to circumvent rate limits, plan quotas, or authentication mechanisms.
- Use the webhook URL feature to target internal or private network addresses.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of proprietary components.
5. Plans and Billing
- The free tier includes limited signal volume and proposal generation.
- Paid plans (Builder, Growth, Scale) are billed monthly via Stripe.
- Plan limits are enforced automatically. Exceeding limits results in HTTP 429 responses, not additional charges.
- You may upgrade or cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
6. AI-Generated Proposals
Improvement proposals are generated by AI based on signal patterns. They are suggestions, not guarantees. You are solely responsible for reviewing, approving, and implementing any changes to your product. Specter is not liable for outcomes resulting from implementing AI-generated proposals.
7. Data Ownership
- You retain ownership of all signal data you send to Specter.
- You grant Specter a license to process your data for the purpose of providing the service.
- Specter does not sell your data to third parties.
8. Service Availability
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee 100% uptime. Scheduled maintenance, infrastructure issues, or third-party service outages may cause temporary interruptions. The service is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Specter and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be communicated via email or dashboard notification. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
